Merry CHRISTmas!

Here's wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas. I hope people out there remember the reason for this holiday and maybe, just maybe, the new year will see a huge turnaround in our country with how people treat one another. There is far too much hate and anger in our world today, there seems to be no end to it.

Imagine if all the evil and meanness in our lives were replaced with friendliness and kindness. Instead of going out and sticking a gun in a man's face to steal his money, the criminal decided instead to help a man change a flat tire, expecting nothing in return, and then gets rewarded with a little money by a grateful person who won't take no for an answer. Same result, more or less, but the world is a slightly better place as a result.

What if the teenager, who is being ridiculed and mocked because he doesn't want to smoke weed with everyone else, suddenly remembered the advice his father gave him about how being a man means standing up for your beliefs and principles, even if the result means you suffer a little bit, and he stands tall and say's "No, and don't ask me again".

How about if the drug dealer who gets stopped by a police officer while carrying narcotics, and who has a gun in his hand, decides that the jail time he is going to serve because of his own actions, is nowhere near worth taking an officer's life and he comes clean to the officer instead, realizing it's just a part of the business he chose to be in.

Just think about how things would be different if people on the street didn't put up with bad people hurting others. When the crowd of onlookers see a man being beaten, they all run in together and stop the assailant and hold him for police instead of pulling out their phones to video record the ugly scene.

At some point, kindness and respect for others must make a comeback. The good, eventually, must overtake the bad. A human life must become a precious thing again, and not remain something that can be destroyed for the cost of a fast food lunch. The long-lasting euphoric feeling one gets from helping someone in need must, once again, become more powerful than the temporary high of poisonous drugs. People have got to get back to the dinner table, where fathers impress on their sons what it means to stand up for himself and for others who cannot defend themselves; where mothers can make sure their daughters value themselves first and foremost, before giving up their dignity to fashion or romance.

I remember the sacrifice that God made for me and my family, and I give thanks to him for the many blessings I have in my life...most of which I absolutely do not deserve. My wish is that all those who have forgotten what he did for them, will suddenly remember, and be so thankful that they start trying to live their life the way he wants them to.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Matthew 1:23

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Romans 12:10

Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.

2 Corinthians 9:15

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
